This has been going around Facebook and it makes me laugh.
I made this pulled pork the other day from a pastured pork shoulder cut. It turned out really well! The flavor is delicious and I am pretty much in love with long, slow cooking. A slow cooker is no doubt in my future.

This year I participated in the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, and I swapped delicious honey-sweetened gingerbread cookies (sans molasses). They were really good!

This the turkey chili recipe I used for our Thanksgiving chili. We think it’s delicious and will make it regularly.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is this week! Seems like it was just June the other day… time keeps moving forward quicker than ever. I’ve got lots of ideas for the Thanksgiving meal, though it will be a modest affair, just being the two of us. Still, the food should be delicious.
I love the image in this post, too - I got it off Wikimedia Commons.

I want to eat this all the time, it is so good. Thanks to Chelsea for sending it to me in the US! My mother would love it, too. I think I’m going to try to make some this fall.
You know when you’re about to go out of town and you have a weird mix of food left in the fridge but you don’t want to buy anything because it’ll go bad? That situation led to a really good dinner for me tonight.
I dug around in the cupboard and came up with some pasta with arrabbiata sauce. I also made a salad with the last of the romaine hearts, some baby corn, red onion, and parsley. And then I had the incredible brioche toast with goat cheese crumbles and picalilly pictured above.
Picalilly is this sort of strange but delicious British condiment. It’s got pickled vegetables in it (like cauliflower and zucchini), and it’s mustardy and vinegary and tangy enough that it makes my mouth pucker a little. It sort of seems like someone mixed all the hot dog condiments together, minus the ketchup. I love it.
Anyway, after I ate, I was really happy that I didn’t stop and grab take away. This dinner was so delicious, and there’s something satisfying about using up what you’ve got. Now I’m off to Wales this weekend for some horseback riding. Here’s hoping we get a bit of sun.
I’ve been fermenting this lacto fermented ginger ale for a couple of weeks, but it’s not very sparkly. I transferred it to a bottle that will hopefully help bring about more carbonation (there’s some, but not enough for my taste). It has a delicious sweet ginger-lemon flavor right now. So good!

We ate at Enoteca Maria last weekend and it was awesome. Delicious traditional Italian food prepared by an Italian grandmother. Pictured is the autumn minestrone, which was perfect by my standards. We both loved it.

caprese salad on Flickr.
This sort of deconstructed caprese salad was delicious. I loved the taste and shape of the tomatoes; the clean mozzarella balls; and the warm olive oil. I wonder if these tomatoes came from the restaurant owner’s backyard? It is entirely possible.
